Monjayaki

Monjayaki is Kanto's answer to Okonomiyaki. With a slightly more liquid consistency to Okonomiyaki, the savory pancake with finely chopped cabbage and various toppings is cooked on a hotplate in front of customers.

Tsukishima, Tokyo, (~1km east of Ginza) is home to arguably the largest concentration of Monjayaki restaurants in Japan, with 70 restaurants located around the Tsukishima shopping street, aptly named "Monja Street".

銀座から程近い月島は、日本で一番大きくて有名なもんじゃ焼き店が集まっているエリアで、“もんじゃストリート”と呼ばれている商店街にはおよそ70店ものもんじゃ焼き屋さんが軒を連ねています。

International Supermarkets - National Azabu

If you are feeling homesick, looking for special dietary foods or hard-to-find ingredients for an old family recipe, there are many supermarkets in Tokyo that specialize in foreign groceries. One of the more well-known supermarkets is "National Azabu".

Located in Minami Azabu, across from Arisugawa Park, National Azabu stocks a wide range of foreign food, wine, sweets, vegetarian products, cleaning products and more. Another branch, National Den-en, is located in Den-en-chofu, Setagaya-ku. English speaking staff can take telephone orders and arrange home-delivery.
